A sudden golden flavour tantalizes you
Why the haste
When the pain of trips to be
Is still there to tell you where you were?
Running from a past to live
Perhaps a stop to think
Might be the best of trips to stir
Jacket and tie neatly packed in my brown leather case
A sweaty hand
Picks the jug shamely earned
While a train whistles past
And it’s already too early
When the third mug is absorbed
In a swift melancholy.
